Job Announcement: Enforcement Campaign Organizer

Fe y Justicia Worker Center is a safe space for low-wage workers to learn about their workplace rights and to organize to improve working conditions on the job. We build the collective power of low-wage workers in Houston in order to ensure a community in which all work is respected and all workers have a right to a healthy and sustainable job. 

Fe y Justicia Worker Center seeks a highly motivated part time Enforcement Campaign Organizer to lead the “Worksite Enforcement Campaign.” He or She will develop and implement a broad range of strategies to engage members, increase leadership, and cultivate partnerships with community allies and grassroots organizations. The CW organizer will also coordinate public actions and media events to highlight workers’ rights violations. 

Job Criteria:

o    Demonstrated commitment to social and economic justice and 2 years’ experience organizing or volunteering with a membership-based social justice organization

o   Works well with diverse groups including but not limited to the following: people of faith, labor, and grassroots organizations

o   Strong communication and facilitation skills

o   Critical thinking and strategizing  toward  campaign goals

o   Self-motivation and independence, as well as strong team player

o   Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends;

o   Fluent in spoken and written English and Spanish

o   Computer (Microsoft Word, Excel and contact databases) and technology skills
